XD/VEGA Mastering Studio is a professional midi file editor which lets you customize standard midi files into XD format. The wide availability of standard GM/GS files is certainly cool if you own a GM-compatible keboard (like the Ketron XD/VEGA): playing a track it's just Load & Play.

However, if you are searching for some professional results, then you know you always have to edit sound settings. That's where usually the trouble begins.

In fact, most Ketron XD settings are written into midifiles as System Exclusive messages - obscure strings of hexadecimal values like F0 26 7B 00 00 01 F7 (this example message sets the reverb type into your keyboard).
